On Friday 31st August APPS launched its Active Travel Program. The event was a fantastic success with our school leaders stamping students ‘passports’ as they arrived at school on foot or by bikes and scooters.
Our wonderful P&C were also on hand to facilitate the ‘Walking Buses’ and provided a piece of fruit to all participants.
Jilly Gibson the Mayor of North Sydney was also in attendance to welcome participants as they arrived at school. The North Sydney Council funded The Rolling Fix, mobile bicycle mechanics (www.therollingfix.com) to attend, who performed free maintenance checks and basic servicing on student bikes and scooters!
Thank you to the P&C and North Sydney Council for their support and coordination of this initiative. We look forward to students continuing to fill their passports each week by walking or riding to school.
